Welcome to ClassBatch ("we", "our", or "us"), accessible via our Android application and our website at https://classbatch.in. We provide an educational management application designed for teachers, private tutors, coaching institutes, and their enrolled students.

We value your trust and are strictly committed to safeguarding the privacy and security of educators, students, and parents. This Privacy Policy details the types of information we collect, how that information is utilized, and your absolute rights regarding your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

To deliver our educational services, ClassBatch collects the following minimal information:

• Account Credentials: Name, email address (via Google Sign-In or manual entry), and optional contact number.
• Academic Batch Data: Coaching batch names, subject titles, batch schedules, student rosters, and attendance records.
• Educational Content: Study notes, lecture PDFs, scanned handwritten worksheets, and question papers uploaded voluntarily by teachers or students.
• Performance Records: Quiz and test results, marks, and auto-generated academic performance reports.
• Communication Data: In-batch discussion messages, sticker reactions, and pre-admission prospective student inquiries.

2. Device Permissions and Why We Request Them

The ClassBatch Android application requests specific device permissions solely to provide core educational features:

A. Camera Permission (android.permission.CAMERA)

Purpose: The camera permission is requested strictly when a teacher or student explicitly chooses to take a photo of handwritten homework, a whiteboard diagram, or paper notes to upload directly to a batch.

Protection: ClassBatch never accesses your camera in the background or captures photos without your immediate manual action.

B. Storage & Media Access (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)

Purpose: Used solely to allow users to select documents or images from their device for lecture notes, or to download syllabus PDFs and exported CSV attendance sheets to their phone.

C. Notifications (android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS)

Purpose: Used to deliver timely 30-minute class reminders, announcement alerts, and attendance notifications. You can toggle notifications off at any time in system settings.

We respect teachers' hard work and proprietary curriculum. The ClassBatch student viewer implements FLAG_SECURE to prevent unauthorized screenshots, screen recordings, or piracy leaks of uploaded notes and test materials.

5. Third-Party Infrastructure Services

We rely on industry-standard Google Cloud and Firebase infrastructure for authentication and secure database synchronization:

• Google Firebase Authentication: Provides secure authentication and Google Sign-In.
• Google Cloud Firestore: Synchronizes batches, attendance records, and inquiries securely using HTTPS and encrypted cloud databases.

6. Your Data Rights & Instant Account Deletion

You have complete ownership and control over your personal data. In strict adherence to Google Play developer policies:

• Instant In-App Deletion: You can permanently delete your entire account, created batches, student records, and study files at any time by navigating to Profile Settings → "Delete Account & Data" inside the app.
• Web & Email Deletion: You may also request deletion by emailing our privacy team at support@classbatch.in. All associated records will be permanently purged from our servers within 48 business hours.

7. Children's Privacy

ClassBatch is designed for use in academic and coaching batches under the guidance and administration of verified educators or parents. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate parental or educator oversight.

8. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally to reflect product updates or legal compliance. Any material revisions will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
